Six and a half metres of gold

In the double-height living room of a private home in Haifa, a sequence of vertical slats carries the eye from floor to ceiling. The slats, in raw aluminium 6.5 metres high, were clad with the 3M DI-NOC ME-1997 brushed gold finish, together with some kitchen elements: a continuous surface that changes with the daylight.

The scale

From floor to ceiling

Each slat is clad over its full height, with no visible joints. Scroll: the eye rises along the wall.

The site on the scaffolding

The slats take their place in the living room still under construction: the cladding was applied at height, slat by slat, along the full height of the wall.

The material

Gold in the light

The brushed finish gives different reflections through the day. The repetition of the profiles creates subtle shadows that add depth to the wall without weighing it down.
